Today marks seven years of being a full-time artist, a milestone that fills me with both pride and reflection. I still vividly remember the moment I decided to take the leap, leaving behind the security of a traditional job to pursue my passion. The empowerment that followed was exhilarating; it felt as though I had reclaimed a part of myself that had been dormant for far too long. I was finally free to explore my creativity, to express my ideas, and to connect with others through my art. However, along with that empowerment came anxiety—the fear of uncertainty, of how I would make ends meet, and whether my work would be recognized or appreciated.
As I look back on these years, I realize that the journey of being a full-time artist has been filled with both triumphs and challenges. There were days when inspiration flowed effortlessly, and others when it felt just out of reach. I learned to embrace the flow of creativity, understanding that it’s a continuous cycle of growth and exploration. The connections I’ve forged with fellow artists and the impact of my work on my audience have been profoundly rewarding, often reminding me of why I chose this path in the first place. I never imagined the depth of personal growth I would experience, nor the incredible resilience I would cultivate amidst the ups and downs.
In celebrating this anniversary, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to my community.
