Jan 15th was the deadline for Texas cities to remove their rainbow crosswalks in compliance with Governor Abbott’s most recent anti-LGBTQ+ order.

As most of you are aware, Governor Greg Abbott issued an order by remove all “political messages” from the streets under threat of losing state transportation funding. Including the Rainbow Crosswalks on Main Avenue in San Antonio.

While many individuals across the state shared feelings of dread and grief, I was approached by the dedicated and inspiring team at the nonprofit @ppsouthtexas to take on a mural project. The goal was to paint pride crosswalks across three clinics within four days.

This project was very meaningful because it served as a powerful reminder to the community that these experiences can’t be silenced or erased. It was a statement of solidarity, unity, and acceptance. To celebrate, we brought together four lead artists to work on this series of murals.

I feel truly honored to collaborate with @redsbodyart, @freudenfreudad, @thewizardsatx , and @consciousbat . I couldn’t have asked for a more committed and talented team, one that truly embodies and promotes resilience and hope.
